What's your escape mechanism during this pandemic? And why?

Sometimes those you love, they don’t clap when you win
...you have to be mature enough to understand that sometimes our friends and family don't have the capacity to be the cheerleaders we think they should be or be the cheerleaders we have been for them.
No one wants to talk about middle aged Black Women and loneliness
I hope in the coming months as we go into the holidays, there are more conversations about loneliness and how Black women navigate said loneliness. It is imperative to the mental and emotional health of middle aged Black Women to explore this topic and perhaps create solutions to navigate this part of their journey with healthy results.
Yes, I’m a Mom and yes I am also a complex human being…
Such is life. #Mommyfab
For so long Black American Mothers have been neatly filed into racist social tropes. We are either ghetto Moms, asexual bodies that serve the youth and the men in our community or we are the likeable, respectable woman who knows her place.
Hi. I’m a Mom. I think that’s bullshit. Black Moms we are human. We are also complex human beings because the duality of being a Black American parent in America — being here and trying to raise our children whilst protecting them from the trauma we have faced demands complexity and cleverness.

You’re over 45 and divorced. Dating is going to be like a damn circus. Face it.
This still stands. It’s a circus out there. Be careful. Remember we are in a gotdamn pandemic. #MommyFab
This is a funny post. Some things I will write will be true. Some will be hyperbole. Fun facts: I’m divorced, over 45 years old and I’m Black American. So there’s layers to the foolishness that is about to ensue. And if you are triggered by profanity, please skip this post.

This is what the pool of candidates look like when you are an educated Black American woman over 45+, divorced and looking to have a reasonably intelligent level of engagement. You are choosing from a plethora of clowns. Now don’t get me wrong, there are are some good and great guys out there. I try not to think about 09/11 anymore. I saw the first plane fly into the building. I remember saying to myself ?what rich idiot has flown their damn sesna into the tower?? I was oblivious. I hopped on the D train, ready to play hooky from work. I was headed to see my friends at my old job just a couple of doors down from the NYSE. I just needed a breather cause PwC was kicking my ass at the time. Then the train stopped just shy of 57th and they told us to get out the train we are under terrorist attack. That train had stopped right by my job. I remember walking and then as I turned to go in the door? Everyone was looking up, so I looked up too? The tower fell down and their was this huge…

I miss the NYC that shaped me and set me free. #MommyFab
In 1998, I moved to New York. The perverse racism and segregation in #Chicago was choking me. The decline in unity and cohesion in the #Black community was breaking my heart. With both my parents dead and no siblings, there was no reason for me to stay.
Out of the #Midwestern pool of mediocrity, I yearned to be exceptional and #GREAT.
So I ran off to New York, I was in search of a better life. A life where my #humanism was not marginalized by the color of my epidermis. My upward mobility was not totally aligned with my zip code. A life where I could be #HUMAN, where I could unleash my true self – AND BE GREAT.
In my travels, I was at a party? chatting away, networking and such. I happen to strike up a grandiose conversation with a Chinese girl from Uptown. Eventually we would both…
